A suicide bomber reportedly detonated his explosives near a military vehicle in Nawa district of southern Helmand province killing at least 13 people and wounding 19, Tolo News reported.

The attack occurred around 6:30 pm Sunday in Dopul area of the district.

The victims who lost their lives in the blast were civilians and military personnel.

Thirteen civilians and military personnel were killed in the blast and 19 civilians were wounded, said Omar Zwak, spokesman for the provincial governor.
