A man living in the Philadelphia suburbs got a call at work Wednesday to tell him a deer had trashed his house. Pete Lazar of Quakertown told WPVI-TV, Philadelphia, he thought \"someone was messing around\" with him until he got home and saw police and animal control officers at his house. Then he got a look inside. \"Broken glass, destroyed carpet; destroyed everywhere,\" Lazar said. \"It was not as bad as it could have been, but it was bad enough.\" A neighbor, Marie Strecker, said the deer, a year-old doe, had been wandering the neighborhood and then seemed to panic. The animal jumped through a plate glass window. Police and Game Commission officers found the deer inside, bleeding and clearly severely injured. It was put down.
