French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian

French Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Agnes Romatet-Espagne said that Egypt is considered a main partner to France, adding that the strategic partnership between the two countries has been developing noticeably over the past years especially in the field of combating terrorism.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian will meet his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry after they met in Cairo on June 8.
The spokeswoman told MENA on Wednesday that the two sides will tackle regional crises such as that of Libya where the French foreign minister will review the outcome of the meeting which he participated in Tuesday besides Prime Minister of Libyan Government of National Accord Fayez al Sarraj and Commander of the Libyan Army Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar near Paris.
It was agreed between Shoukry and Le Drian to continue contacts so as to work on finding a solution for the Libyan crisis.
Le Drian will also review the outcome of his Gulf tour to solve the crisis with Qatar, she reiterated, noting that the Egyptian and French foreign ministers agree on rallying efforts of all countries to fight terrorism.
The spokeswoman further underscored that the meeting between the two ministers will take up main joint files and trade exchange between the two nations where Le Drian stressed his country's support for the social and economic development in Egypt.
