EU-Egypt Association Council on Tuesday endorsed the EU-Egypt partnership priorities for 2017-2020, said the European Union in a press release on Tuesday.
The endorsement of the document coincided with the convocation of the seventh session of the Association of the EU-Egypt Council which kicked off earlier in the day and co-chaired by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Federico Mogerini.
The aim of the partnership priorities is to address common challenges, to promote joint interests and to guarantee long-term stability on both sides of the Mediterranean.
The EU-Egypt partnership priorities are guided by a shared commitment to the universal values of democracy, the rule of law and respect for human rights.
The priorities cover three main areas:
1-Egypt's sustainable modern economy and social development
