A forest fire near Avila, Spain, led to the evacuation of 300 people Tuesday, officials said. The fire, which the regional government of Castilla y Leon said was deliberately set, was considered under control but was fanned back to life Monday night and Tuesday morning by high winds, the English-language newspaper Think Spain said Tuesday. The evacuees, from the town of Palacios de Becedas, were taken to a sports center in the nearby town of El Barco de Avila, the news service said.
