An 18-year-old girl died and 10 others, both boys and girls, sustained minor to major injuries in a road accident in Fujairah, revealed Lt Col Hassan Salem Jummah, acting director of traffic and patrols at the headquarters of Fujairah Police. The accident occurred at 3am when a Palestinian woman, named Taghreed Ali, 32, was driving a Land Cruiser on the New Schools road in Fujairah. She was accompanied by her children and also of her friends, aged between 10-18 years. They were heading to the Tennis Club before the car suddenly swerved towards the left. She lost control over the steering wheel and the car crossed the middle island  and hit a mountainside as the accident happened in a mountainous area. Lt Col Jummah added that traffic patrols and an ambulance vehicle were rushed to the scene. They transferred the victims to a Fujairah hospital, where Aya Sobhi, 18, died at the ICU unit. Haifa Jamal, 17, and Nour Jamal, 15, have been admitted to the ICU and their condition is critical. Meanwhile, the driver and eight other children aged between 10 and 14 years age were discharged from the hospital after being given first aid. From: The Gulf today
