Intermittent rains that started on Monday''s morning continued across the province throughout the day, adding to the plight of the people already facing severe difficulties in the wake of relentless rains, Pakistan''s Geo TV reported Tuesday. After a day long rains more villages came under water in different districts of the province while 12 people lost their lives in separate rain related incidents. Several villages are inundated and flood affectees are awaiting relief in camps. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) stated that over 200 people have died during the floods. Rain continued in calamity stricken Badin and affectees were waiting for help in relief camps. After three days, rain stopped in Dadu but the devastation caused was apparent. There is a severe shortage of food and clean drinking water in relief camps. Rain started again Monday afternoon in Dadu and according to DCO Jafar Abbasi, a camp has been formed at the district jail for flood affectees. Several acres of crops were destroyed in Tando Muhammad Khan and over in Nawabshah, water had accumulated in several areas. The rains and floods have caused mass devastation in the province and it affects are expected to last as health experts fear the spread of water borne diseases on a large scale.
