The Syrian army and the Lebanese Hezbollah group on Saturday morning launched an offensive against the Daesh terrorist group in Syria's western Qalamoun region, Hezbollah's military media office said.

The offensive coincides with the Lebanese army's operation against Daesh in the border towns of al-Qaa and Ras Baalbek.

The office noted that there was no coordination between the Lebanese army and Hezbollah or the Syrian army.
