Ten people have been arrested in Israel on suspicion of human organ trafficking, police said. The 10 are believed part of a ring that ran a network matching donors to those who required urgent transplants, The Jerusalem Post reported. The investigation began after law enforcement officials abroad contracted Israeli police for assistance in shutting down the illegal operation. A police spokesman said the actual transplants were carried out abroad but the group promised large amounts of cash to Israelis who were willing to sell their organs. Charges against the traffickers included causing grievous bodily harm and tax evasion.
