Henderson was pronounced dead at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Sinai Hospital after an unknown person drove him there but took off before police arrived, authorities said. His death came at the end of a sequence of events that began Wednesday morning when witnesses told police they saw Henderson arguing with several unknown men in the 1900 block of South Troy Avenue, police said. Hours after the quarrel -- just before 3:30 p.m., according to police -- residents heard several shots and called police, who arrived to find a pool of blood and bullet casings in the street, but no body. Hospital officials notified authorities after Henderson\'s arrival there. Authorities didn\'t have a clear motive for the slaying involving Henderson, who police called a gang member with a long list of aliases and and even longer list of arrests -- more than 20 dating back the last 10 years, according to court records.
