A man in Afghan army uniform shot dead two NATO soldiers in eastern Afghanistan on Thursday, the military alliance said. \"An individual wearing an Afghan National Army uniform turned his weapon against two International Security Assistance Forces ( ISAF) service members in eastern Afghanistan, today, killing both service members,\" the NATO-led ISAF said in a press release. However, the brief release did not identify the exact place of the incident and the nationalities of the victims, only saying \"it is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.\" Troops mostly from the United States have been stationed in eastern Afghanistan within the framework of ISAF to curb Taliban- linked insurgency there. The ISAF press release did not say whether the attacker was detained, only saying \"The ISAF is investigating the incident.\" Such incidents had happened in the past. Three Australian soldiers with the ISAF were killed and seven others, including a local translator, were injured when an Afghan army soldier opened fire in an army training center in the country\'s southern Uruzgan Province on October 29 this year. Over 560 NATO soldiers, most of them Americans, have been killed in the insurgency-hit Afghanistan since the beginning of this year.
