Mexican soldiers have carried out two anti-drug operations in the Northern states of Sinaloa and Tamaulipas seizing a total of 14 tonnes of marijuana, said Mexico’s defense secretary. In Sinaloa, 981 packets of marijuana with a weight of 9.5 tonnes were discovered after small explosion caught the attention of government troops. On Wednesday a further 4.7 tonnes of the drug were seized at an abandoned property in the town of Camargo. In both cases the drugs were handed over to the judicial authorities.
