Philippine President Benigno Aquino III appointed on Monday Lt. Gen. Jessie Dellosa as the new chief- of-staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). Dellosa, the AFP Northern Command chief prior to his appointment, replaced General Eduardo Oban Jr., who will reach the 56-year-old mandatory retirement age on Wednesday. The 54-year-old new military chief belongs to the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1979.
