European Union’s Ambassador to Moscow Vigaudas Usackas

European Union’s Ambassador to Moscow Vigaudas Usackas said that Russia has no intention of initiating a military conflict with NATO, TASS news agency reported on Friday.

"Russia may be regarded as a rather quarrelsome country, but it is my deep conviction that it is not going to attack NATO countries." Usackas said

He added "it is important to maintain certain working relations with Russia at the political and military level in order to avoid their escalation in case of misunderstandings."

Permanent Representative Ambassador Vladimir Chizhov asked on Thursday the European Union (EU) to change the political pace related to the relations with Russia, pointing out that would lead to resume summit conference between the EU and Russia.

Chizhov said that Russia and Europe are not only partners, but also neighbors associated by common history and civilization.
