Several passengers died on board a boat carrying refugees from northern Africa that reached the southern Italian coast on Saturday, Italian news agency Ansa reported. Rescue workers found at least three bodies in the boat that arrived at the southern Italian city of Brindisi, while witnesses spoke of about ten fatalities, according to Ansa. Around 60 people were thought to have been on board the sailing boat. Several refugees were reportedly rescued from the rough waters. It was not initially clear from which northern African state the migrants had departed for European shores.
