Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi

The phone call that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received from his counterpart of Sierra Leone Ernest Bai Koroma reflects the desire of both sides to boost bilateral relations, said Egyptian Ambassador here Maher el Mahdy.
Sierra Leone appreciates President Sisi, being a model of a strong African leader who is respected by the whole world and in recognition of his efforts to combat terrorism, Mahdy added in statements to MENA.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian diplomat hailed ties binding Egypt and Sierra Leone that date back to 1961, when Cairo first inaugurated its consulate in Freetown three months before the African country’s independence from Britain on April 27.
Mahdy also underscored the importance of the joint committee between the two countries as a key channel to address all issues of mutual concern.
Egypt is keen to provide Sierra Leone with cooperation programs, particularly with regard to augmenting capabilities in the fields of health, agriculture, press, media and fighting terrorism.
Separately, Mahdy urged the Egyptian investors to carry out projects in Sierra Leone, noting that there are four Egyptian companies investing in the African country in the sectors of communications, heavy equipment and fishing.
