Syrian army units on Saturday retook control over Howeijet al Mrai’eyeh village in the southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor province.

This represents a considerable progress that will help enhance the security zone around Jafra village and near the military airport.

Army units carried out intensified operations targeting terrorist Daesh hideouts and gatherings in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor over the past few hours, the Syrian News Agency reported.

During operations, army units destroyed the defense lines of the terrorist group in the area and left some of their elements dead or wounded, the news agency added.
