Taliban militants attacked a check post in a Pakistani tribal region early Wednesday and killed at least two security men, local media reported. Two other security men were also injured in the attack in Mohmand agency near Afghan border, TV channels reported. Official sources said the militants attacked the check post with rockets and other heavy weapons in Ghalnai area of Mohmand region. The attack sparked exchange of firing between the security forces and the militants for two hours. There was no report of any casualty of the militants. Meanwhile two soldiers and a woman were publicly executed for allegedly having illicit relations following a decision by tribal council, or Jirga, in Mohmand Agency, local media reported. Daily Jang reported that the paramilitary soldiers from the Frontier Corps (FC), were performing their duty at a check post in the Safi area of Mohmand agency and had reportedly developed illicit relations with a woman in the area. Residents caught the two soldiers after they entered the woman\' s house early Tuesday Later, a jirga of elders decided to shoot the accused publicly. Sources said they were subsequently shot dead with a Kalashnikov rifle. The slain persons belonged to Khyber tribal Agency and had been on duty in Mohmand region.
