As many as 16 people were wounded in two separate road accidents in Cairo and Damietta governorates on Sunday, said the Health Ministry.
Health Ministry Spokesman Khaled Megahed said in a statement that nine people were wounded when a small truck carrying workers overturned on the regional road of Fayoum governorate, in front of the New Administrative Capital in Cairo.
Five ambulances rushed out to the site of the accident and wounded were moved to Al Bank Al Ahly Hospital, Megahed noted.
The second accident took place when a car collided with a truck in Damietta govenorate, leaving seven persons injured, Megahed added.
Four ambulances were dispatched to the accident scene and casualties were taken to Al Azhar hospital, Megahed further said.
Megahed pointed out that injuries varied between fractures, bruises and brain hemorrhage, noting that the wounded are receiving needed medical treatment.
