Abu Dhabi - Egypt Today
A Bangladeshi man and four Filipina women were sentenced to three years in jail for practicing prostitution. They were accused of promoting the illegal activity by distributing massage parlour cards to men.
The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court of First Instance handed down the sentences to them after they were found guilty of engaging in prostitution activities.
Official court documents stated that the defendants were arrested after investigations suggested that they practiced ad promoted prostitution activities. The Bangladeshi man, who also ran the brothel, was reportedly giving out cards featuring photos of scantily clad Asian women offering massages to men on the streets. The cards also had mobile numbers and words saying 'we offer full massage services' written on them.

Police also found dozens of cards in the pockets of the man. And when cops went to the apartment where the said massage parlour operated, they found four women and other men. Officers said the women were offering sex services to the men in exchange for money.
All defendants denied the charges of prostitution and promoting prostitution activities when they appeared in court. The Filipina women insisted that they were only offering massage services to men and never involved in prostitution activities. The court however convicted them based on the evidence presented by prosecutors.
The group would be deported after serving their jail sentences.
