The Cairo Criminal Court has sentenced to life in prison four defendants convicted of an attempted murder of Chief Justice of Cairo Appeals Court Mutaz Khafaga.
Two of the four were sentenced in absentia.
The court also sentenced two other defendants to 15 years rigorous imprisonment.
Judge Muataz Khafaga had survived an assassination attempt outside his house in Helwan district after unidentified attackers planted explosives underneath his car.
Khafaga was in charge of several terrorist Muslim Brotherhood cases after June 30 Revolution.
