Cairo - Egypt Today
Prosecutor General Nabil Sadeq referred to the criminal court 41 suspects facing charges of human organs transplant, human trafficking and pocketed illicit gains of about EGP 20 million.
Investigations confirmed that 20 doctors working at government hospitals alongside 10 nurses, nine brokers and two workers at Blood Bank performed 29 human organ transplant surgeries.
The suspects manipulated some Egyptians' hard economic conditions and purchased their kidneys for 10,000 to 15,000 pounds.
The suspects got 80,000 to 120,000 dollars from foreign patients in return for transplanting the purchased organs.
