Dubai - Egypt Today
A male worker, who was having paid sex with men in a labour accommodation, has been sentenced to six months in jail to be followed by deportation.
The Pakistani man was caught by the police following a dispute he had with other workers when some of them apparently tried to snap his pictures as he was having sex with another male for money.
Even though the man denied the charge when he appeared in the Court of First Instance, the 22-year-old was found guilty of working in prostitution and ordered to be deported after serving his six-month jail sentence.
The police arrested two other Pakistani men, aged 30 and 26, who had sex with him. The public prosecution then referred the two men to the Court of Misdemeanors to stand trial and they were each sentenced to two months in jail for illicit sex. The court also ordered each of them to pay a Dh2,000 fine on the charge of drinking alcohol without a license. They were to be deported afterwards.
A Bur Dubai police officer said the arrest was made in August last year when they were informed about a problem at a labour accommodation. There were several workers who said the accused would have sex with males for Dh20 a time. They took the worker into custody and also arrested the other men who were involved with him.
The primary rulings may be appealed.
