Maïwenn was introduced to Karl Lagerfeld when he photographed her last October for his tome “The Little Black Jacket: Chanel’s classic revisited” by Karl Lagerfed and Carine Roitfeld and she certainly made an impression. Lagerfeld was so enamoured by the icon of French cinema that he has chosen her to front Chanel’s Autumn/Winter 2012-13 eyewear campaign. The new Chanel ambassadress embodies natural beauty, innate elegance and femininity. On meeting Chanel’s legendary designer, Maïwenn said, “We laughed a lot together that day and I was hypnotised by the rapturous ambiance that surrounds Karl Lagerfeld in his Studio.” This is the first fashion collaboration for Maïwenn and the results will be revealed in September.
