Al Azhar on Friday strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted a security checkpoint in Arish, killing six army personnel.

In a statement, Al Azhar stressed that such terrorist acts will not hinder the duty of army and police to uproot terrorism, adding that such assaults will only increase the will of the Egyptian people to overcome extremist ideologies.

It stated that international comprehensive efforts are required to confront the terrorist attacks, as all these attacks have to be denounced without discrimination.

It offered condolences to the Armed Forces and the families of the martyrs.
