Al Azhar has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that took place in Lahore city located in eastern Pakistan leaving dozens of persons dead and hundreds of others injured, mostly women and children.
In a statement on Monday, Al Azhar said that these criminal acts are flatly rejected by the moderate teachings of Islam.
The great Islamic edifice stressed on the importance of unity of the international community to uproot black terrorism that targets innocent people everywhere, the statement read.
It also offered condolences to the Pakistani people and government as well as the families of victims, hoping a speedy recovery for the wounded.
Meanwhile, a suicide bomber blew himself up in a crowd in Lahore on Sunday.
