Arab League (AL) Secretary General Nabil el Araby strongly condemned the attack against the Saudi Embassy in Tehran and its consulate in Mashhad.
He considered this as a flagrant violation to the international laws and conventions, adding that the Iranian government is responsible for securing these diplomatic missions according to Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations for the year 1961.
In a statement issued on Sunday, el Araby said that Iran must not interfere in the internal affairs of the Arab countries which have the right to protect its nationals and preserve its unity, noting that no party has the right to object to the judicial rulings of other nations.
The AL chief hailed the efforts exerted by Saudi Arabia to fight terrorism and maintain security as well as stability, stressing that the AL supports the Arab country.
Araby reiterated that the Arab countries should combat all forms of extremism.
