Cairo - Arab Today
The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, said on Tuesday that the new Israeli law, which legitimised the construction of new settlements on occupied Palestinian lands, will jeopardise any chances for peace in the Middle East.
In a statement issued by the Arab League, Mr. Aboul Gheit said that the new law, adopted by the Knesset, will not only further complicate efforts for peace in the region, it is also in direct violation of UNSC Resolution No. 2334.
He described the law as a measure to enable Israel to steal more land from the Palestinians.
