Cairo - Arab Today
Bahrain's permanent representative to the Arab League (AL) Rashed bin Abdul Rahman Al Khalifa deplored on Thursday the provocative Israeli cabinet meeting held in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
He described this Israeli action as an illegal, saying it contradicts with all resolutions and principles of the international law.
Delivering a speech at the AL emergency meeting, Rashed Al Khalifa urged Egypt to raise the issue at the UN Security Council (UNSC) to take proper action against the Israeli provocative practices.
Also, the Bahraini official called for Egypt, the only Arab member at the UNSC, to ask the UNSC to press Israel to abide by the international law's rules and respect the UN resolutions for the sake of ending the Israeli occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights and the rest of the occupied Arab territories.
Rashed Al Khalifa called on the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to pay more attention to the recent Israeli provocative action represented in holding a cabinet meeting in the Syrian Golan Heights, describing it as a threat to Arab national security and the region.
He demanded Israel to refrain from its serious settlement policy and other practices that help aggravate the situation in the Middle East.
