Egypt's mufti Shawki Allam condemned the terrorist operation carried by a group of extremists against the Baqir-ul-Olum mosque in the Afghan capital Kabul.
The attack left 27 people dead and 35 others wounded.
Allam said in a statement on Monday it is important to boost international cooperation to uproot terrorism worldwide.
Allam's call came after President Abdel Fattah el Sisi's initiative for establishing a world union for combating terrorist groups and offering support for countries that engage in wars against them.
He extended his sincere condolences to the families of the victims, wishing speedy recovery to the injured.
Earlier, officials in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in the Afghan Ministry of Interior (MoI) confirmed 27 people were killed and nearly 35 others were wounded in Dar-ul-Aman area of the Afghan capital.
