Egypt's Grand Mufti Shawqi Allam condemned the terrorist attack that targeted a security checkpoint in Arish city in North Sinai, killing six personnel of the Armed Forces.

In a statement on Friday, the mufti also deplored the killing of a priest in the Cairo neighborhood of el Marg.

The enemy is one in the two crimes, Allam said, noting that terrorism requires that we unite in order to confront extremist terrorist groups which seek to undermine the country's security and stability.

He extended condolences to the victims' families.
