Ramallah - Arab Today
Secretary of the PLO's Executive Committee Saeb Erekat on Tuesday denounced Israeli President Reuven Rivlin's visit yesterday to east Ramallah settlements council, saying that it reflects Israel's biased polices and insistence on "apartheid".
The Chief Palestinian Negotiator deemed the visit - which is the first of its kind by an Israeli president - an Israeli attempt to hinder the French-brokered peace initiative.
The Israeli government insists on violating international agreements, Erekat said, calling on the international community to denounce terrorism, take action against the occupation and boycott it.
According to Israeli media, Rivlin was greeted warmly by settlers during his visit that included an official tour of Benjamin settlements.
