Chairman of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal mourned the martyrs of a terrorist attack on a military checkpoint in North Sinai on Friday, leaving 12 servicemen dead and six others injured.
In a statement, Abdel Aal termed as "heinous" such terrorist acts committed by misled groups that target the state and seek to destabilize the country.
He asserted that such criminal acts will be doomed to fail, adding these acts instead will strengthen the resolve of the Egyptian government and people to combat terrorism.
He stressed the important of standing behind the state institutions to fight these despicable attempts.
The parliament spares no efforts to provide the legislative environment that could help deter terrorism, he said.
