Prime Minister Sherif Ismail on Sunday phoned Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Diocese.
The premier condoled with the pope over the victims of Boutrosiya Church blast that took place earlier Sunday and left scores dead and injured.
Ismail said the Egyptian people will remain united in the face of such terror plots targeting the stability of the homeland.
He added that directives were issued to offer all aspects of medical care to the injured and the families of the victims.
At least 25 people were killed and 49 more injured in the blast that targeted the church which is adjacent to the St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Cairo's Abbasiya.
