The National Assembly on Friday unanimously adopted a resolution denouncing North Korea over its hydrogen bomb test earlier this week, Yonhap news agency reported.

The resolution urged North Korea to scrap its nuclear programs, warning that the North's reckless behavior will draw international pressure and deepen its isolation.

The rare bipartisan move came two days after North Korea carried out its fourth nuclear test in defiance of international warnings.

It also came as South Korea is working with the US, Japan and other regional powers for the swift adoption of a U.N. resolution to slap strong sanctions on North Korea.

North Korea has already been under UN sanctions for its three previous nuclear tests in 2006, 2009 and 2013.
