The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Monday condemned in strongest terms the treacherous terror attack on the Boutrosiya Church in Abbasiya Sunday.
Also, the UNSC denounced Giza's terror attack that left six policemen killed and several civilians injured, a statement issued the UN office in Cairo indicated.
UNSC members expressed sincere sympathy and condolences to the families of the martyrs and the Egyptian government, wishing speedy recovery for the injured, the statement noted.
Meanwhile, the members stressed that all forms of terrorism pose as the most dangerous threat for world peace and security.
They affirmed the necessity of bringing terrorists, their financiers and sympathizers to justice, the statement added.
Furthermore, the members urged the all nations to abide by the international law and UNSC resolutions in this regard as well as cooperate with the Egyptian government in this connection.
On Sunday, at least 23 people were killed and 49 others injured when a bomb went off inside El Boutroseya Church adjacent St Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Cairo’s Abbassiya district.
