Ophthalmology specialists will treat locals Khartoum - Abedalgoum Ashmeag Fifteen Spanish ophthalmology specialists arrived in Sudan on Saturday to perform a number of operations on citizens, train Sudanese doctors, and give lectures on the subject at universities. The specialists were invited by the Ministry of Health in Khartoum. Khartoum's Eye Hospital Director, Dr Abdul Lifter Rafee Amin said that the delegation will provide therapeutic services for citizens in the state for free, and will also conduct operations and treatment as of next Sunday for complex cases. Dr Amin praised the Spanish delegation, stressing that they will take full advantage of the team's expertise and knowledge. He also stressed the hospital's interest in inviting more international medical experts to Sudan. Professor Mamoun Hemida from the Ministry of Health announced intentions of forging a partnership with international experts to expand the country's field of ophthalmology as well as to provide treatment in all parts of the state - especially in rural and remote neighbourhoods and to open a number of hospitals and specialised centres.
