Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el Damaty said on Friday that the disappearance of eight artifacts from Tel Lafraain store in Kafr El Sheikh governorate had been discovered in 2012.
A committee was surveying the store in 2012 when it revealed that the eight pieces disappeared, including parts of a small-sized bronze statues of Osiris, the minister said.
The prosecution is still investigating the incident, the minister added.
