Director General of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Irina Bokova on Wednesday visited the “Farah Al Nas” radio station at the Queen Zein Al Sharaf Institute for Development on the occasion of the launching of a new radio program made for the Syrian refugees.Executive Director of the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development, Farah Daghistani, expressed appreciation about the visit and voiced hope for more future cooperation with the UNESCO.The program, which will be broadcast twice a week on Sunday and Tuesday at 1:00 pm, is being launched to boost access to information and ensure freedom of expression for the Syrian refugees who are living in Jordan.The program is funded by the Japanese government and will be implemented in cooperation with an Italian voluntary organization concerned with helping people suffering in armed conflicts, the UNESCO and the “Farah Al Nas” radio station. The station will also train 20 volunteers in the skills of reporting.
