Borg al-Arab stadium

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) Chief Executive Sarwat Swelam asserted that the Tuesday match between sports rivals Al Ahly and Zamalek as part of the Premier League will be played at Borg El Arab stadium.

The change of the place of the match came after the intervention of Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab.

The general secretariat of the Armed Forces agreed to hold the match at Borg El Arab stadium in Alexandria, Swelam said in statements Sunday.

The game will be held Tuesday at 7:00 pm instead of 4:30 pm, he said.

EFA has initially decided to stage the match at Gouna Stadium but Al Ahly refused the idea.

The Red Devils, who said the Gouna pitch was unplayable because of its poor condition, said they were ready to play in three venues: Suez, Sharm El-Sheikh or Borg El Arab. Zamalek, who are bidding for their first Egyptian Premier League title in 11 years, accepted the decision of playing the game at Gouna Stadium.
