Petr Cech has agreed to join Arsenal from Premier League champions Chelsea on a "long-term contract for an undisclosed fee", the Gunners announced on their website on Monday.
The 33-year-old Czech international goalkeeper made more than 400 appearances during 11 years at Stamford Bridge, but has recently found himself playing understudy to Thibaut Courtois.
"I'm really excited about joining Arsenal Football Club and can't wait to join up for pre-season," said Cech.
During his time with Chelsea, Cech's trophy haul included four Premier League titles and four FA Cups, as well as the 2012 Champions League.
Prior to Cech's move across London, Chelsea captain John Terry said he would improve the Gunners, who finished third in the Premier League last season, by 12 to 15 points.
"There is obviously talk of Arsenal signing Petr and if they do get Pete, that will strengthen them for sure," centre-half Terry said. "He will save them 12 to 15 points a season."
Arsenal finished 12 points behind champions Chelsea last term.
