Bayern Munich are waiting on the fitness of star wingers Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben for their opening game of the new German league season against Borussia Moenchengladbach on Sunday. Both Dutch winger Robben and French play-maker Ribery brushed off ankle knocks to take part in training on Thursday and put themselves in contention for the Bavarian giants. The pair should both be available to face 'Gladbach at the Allianz Arena on Sunday, but coach Jupp Heynckes is tight-lipped on whether either will start and the 66-year-old says he will decide just before kick-off. "I would discuss it with the team doctor and physio, plus the two players and only then I will decide," said Heynckes. Heynckes said he is impressed that Ribery took full part in training even though he spent part of the week wearing a plaster cast to protect his ankle. "Franck trained all week - even with a plaster cast, that is crazy!" he said. While Ribery and Robben are racing to be fit, it remains to be seen who Heynckes will opt for in midfield alongside Bastian Schweinsteiger, with both Brazilian Luiz Gustavo and Ukrainian Anatoliy Tymoshchuk in contention.
