The 29-year-old attacking midfielder said on Friday that his goal this season was for his fans “to see the best Kaka” possible. Madrid coach Jose Mourinho recently said he was happy to have a player of Kaka’s quality beside him on the bench. In response, the former Ballon D’Or recipient says he will “fight not only to be on the bench but also to be a starter.” Kaka joined Madrid from AC Milan two summers ago for a reported ?65 million ($94 million). After a mediocre first season, a leg injury sidelined Kaka for a long period of last year’s campaign. Since then he has struggled to find minutes as Germany midfielder Mesut Oezil has emerged as Madrid’s playmaker.
