An offer from German Bundesliga side, Cologne, to put winger Ahmed Shokry on trial is vague, Ahly football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz said on Saturday. “The bid is not clear, that’s why we will hold a meeting with the player’s agent to clarify certain things, including the proposed trial period and transfer fee,” Abdel-Hafiz was quoted as saying by Ahram’s Arabic Sports website. Shokry, who is expected to be part of Egypt’s squad for the Olympic Games in London, was on the verge of moving to another German side, Hoffenheim, last year, but the club eventually opted out after trying him out. The 22-year-old made no secret of his desire to move abroad, having failed to establish himself with Cairo giants, Ahly, despite some promising displays with Egypt during the 2009 U-20 World Cup on home soil. He spent the first half of the season on loan at promoted side, Beni Suef Telephones.
