Cairo - Hossam Al Said
The Egyptian Premier League looks set to gain momentum on Friday, with three matches in Groups One and Two. In Group One, al-Gouna face Misr al-Makasa, with the former looking for three points to move away from the relegation zone. Al-Gouna will also give debuts to new additions Adel Mostafa and Ahmed Ghanem Sultan. Meanwhile, al-Makasa are hoping to bounce back from defeat against ENPPI in Week One. In the same group, leaders ENNPI tackle Ghazl el-Mahalla, with the petroleum squad keen to exploit el-Mahallah's low morale after their Week One defeat to al-Ahly. El-Mahalla manager, Ibrahim Youssef, is hoping to recover from the loss and put on a good performance to avoid a second defeat. In Group Two, el-Ittihad el-Sakandari will host el-Ismaili in a mouthwatering coastal derby. Zamalek beat el-Ittihad 2-0 at the Air Defence Stadium last week, and Ismaili manager Sabri el-Miniawi would be looking to add to their misery, and build on his team's 1-0 win over Talaea el-Geish. In the build-up, el-Miniawi told reporters that his players will attack el-Ittihad's weak defence. El-Ittihad manager Ahmed Sari has emphasised the importance of staying strong at the back in order to deny a repeat of what happened against Zamalek.
