Justin Gatlin made it look easy Sunday, powering into the final of the 200m at the US championships in 19.90sec.
In a legal wind of 1.1 meters per second, Gatlin dominated his heat, with Wallace Spearmon second in 20.30.
Gatlin's training partner Isiah Young notched the second-quickest time of the semi-finals, winning his heat in 20.19.
Gatlin, a controversial figure thanks to two doping bans, has emerged as the dominant sprinter early in the 2015 season with the top times in the world in both the 100m (9.74) and 200m (19.68).
He skipped the 100m won by Tyson Gay on Sunday because his 2014 Diamond League title in the event gives him a wild card into the event at the world championships in Beijing, beginning August 22nd.
