Amman - Arab Today
Palestinian National Initiative Secretary General Mostafa el Barghouthi said the Palestinian people are in need of more Arab support particularly at this critical and vital phase the Palestinian issue is going through.
In an interview with MENA here on Tuesday on the sidelines of the ongoing Arab-International Council meetings, Barghouthi, who is a council member, thanked all supporters of the Palestinian cause especially at the latest battle in facing Israel and in heading for the International Court of Justice.
Barghouthi called for the need to continue to politically support Palestinian stances and support national reconciliation and unity efforts.
He stressed that Israel's behavior will not change and the United States will not change its stance either. Change will only take place when the balance of power with Israel is changed and this can be done through resistance and unifying national ranks, he said.
The Palestinian side will submit cases against Israel to the International Court of Justice early in April mainly the settlement case, war crimes and crimes against humanity that were committed against Gaza Strip residents, he said.
"We know that Israel will not respond to the international law but we will put it to trial and chase all those who commit crimes against us," he added.
"We consider the latest US stance regarding the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and the Palestinians at the UN Security Council as unacceptable," he said.
"We always consider Egypt and Jordan as the lungs through which the Palestinian people breathe. Their peoples have offered a lot to Palestine," he stressed.
