Ghana has moved three places up to rank 38th on the April edition of the FIFA world ranking released on Thursday.

The Black Stars also gained 75 points to increase its total point from March's 656 to 693 in the latest ranking.

Ghana also regained its third place on the continental ranking table behind Cote d'Ivoire and Algeria.

Ghana defeated Mozambique 3-1 in the 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers in Accra on March 24 and drew goalless in the return leg in Maputo three days later.

Argentina is the new team at the summit of the table followed by Belgium and Chile.

According to FIFA, a total of 171 games were taken into account for the April edition of the world ranking, which includes 51 qualifiers for Russia 2018, 60 continental qualifiers and 60 international friendlies.

The two most outstanding performers for April were from the African continent.

Guinea-Bissau (up 45) climbed the most positions by rank, while Morocco (131 points) enjoys the biggest move by virtue of points.
