Iranian National Wrestling Team has claimed the top title of the 2011 Asian Junior Wrestling Championship underway in Bangkok, Thailand, from August 6-7. Iran tops Asian junior wrestling with five gold medals The team, coached by Mohammad Talaei, won five gold, two silver and two bronze medals of the championship and finally scored 90 points, mounting to the top of the old continent after four years. It stood first, followed by India with 81 points, Kazakstan with 69 points, Uzbakstan with 48, Tajikstan with 47 points, Kirkizstan with 41 and Japan with 39 points. The gold medalists for Iran were Peyman Yar-Ahmadi (58 KG), Ali-Reza Karimi (76 KG), Hatam Ali-Akbarzadeh (85 KG) and Pedram Jamshidi (100 KG). Iman Sadeghi (54 Kg) and Mehran Babaei (63 KG) gained silver and Mohammad Ali Azimi (69 KG) won the fifth title of the category. Based on the report, the bronze medals of the contest were awarded to the Iranian wrestlers Yunos Sarmasti (46 KG) and Hosein Yazdani (50 KG). The free-style competitions of the 2011 Youth Asian Freestyle Wrestling Championship were held in Bangkok on August 7, 2011.
