A presidential decree was published Tuesday in the official gazette, setting up a national academy for youth training and empowerment.

The academy aims at honing the skills of young people to achieve hoped-for development in all state sectors.

The academy will be under the supervision of the president.

The academy will have a board of trustees consisting of the prime minister in addition to representatives of the presidency, the Supreme Council of Universities and the ministries of higher education, planning and finance.

It will be based in Cairo.
